Hello Friends,
Nathan here with this weeks dispatch!
First off, our contest submissions are in! We can’t wait to go through them and announce a winner next week!
On a more serious note, the recent wildfires in Los Angeles have left a lasting impact, but the music industry is rallying to help. Major artists and organizations are stepping up through FireAid and other relief efforts to support those affected, including many in our creative community.
And for all the audio pros out there—whether you’re mixing in the studio or running sound live—bad habits can sneak up on you and slow you down. We’re breaking down some of the most common audio engineering pitfalls and how to avoid them.
Let’s dive in!

CONTEST UPDATE
We got some awesome submissions in! Can’t wait to run through all of these and announce a winner next week!

Los Angeles is still recovering from the impact of recent wildfires, and the music industry is stepping up to help. Big names like Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, and Live Nation are supporting FireAid, a benefit concert dedicated to relief efforts. Meanwhile, organizations like MusiCares, SONA, Backline, and the NAMM Foundation are providing direct support to music professionals affected by the fires.
At the center of it all was Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, a non-profit that helps industry workers in times of crisis. On March 6, they teamed up with Musicians for Fire Relief for a global livestream concert and auction to raise funds for those in need.

Our Rareform on Rotation playlist just got a fresh update with tracks we’ve been into lately. Join now and vibe with us!

Working in the audio world isn’t just about making things sound good—it’s also about avoiding the mistakes that can wreck your mix or slow you down. We all have habits, good and bad, that shape how we work in the studio or on stage. The tricky part? Bad habits usually feel easy in the moment but cause problems later. Let’s go over some common audio engineering pitfalls and how to dodge them.

That’s it for this week!
