The Rareform Rundown #60

Hello Friends,

Nathan here, this week I want to share more info about our new product Echelon for composers and music producers and how to level up your music. We have a new track announcement as well! Then we talk about some new studies on music’s effect on focus and how sound can help heal coral reefs!

Let’s get on with it!

New projects + music we are looking for

PROJECTS

I’m excited to share that some of our sound design made it into the campaign for Captain America: Brave New World! Huge thanks to our partners at Disney!

Energy — produced by me, featuring Armanni Reign — came out of the Rareform Audio sync library. We’ve been making tracks together for over a decade now, and this one came together quick and just hit. Check it

We’ve all thrown on a playlist to help us focus—whether it’s ambient textures, lo-fi beats, or some moody piano in the background. But a new study out of NYU is challenging the usual “Deep Focus” vibe. According to their research, it might actually be rhythm-heavy, groove-based music that helps boost concentration and lift your mood during work.

Let’s dig into it.

When we think about coral reefs, it's usually all about the color. But it turns out sound might be just as important to keeping them alive.

A new study in Royal Society Open Science found that playing recordings of healthy reef sounds—things like fish chatter, snapping shrimp, and that subtle underwater hum—can actually help coral larvae settle on damaged reefs. Some spots saw up to seven times more settlement when these natural sounds were added.

That’s it for this week, I appreciate you <3
