Taylor Swift getting her masters back has made a real impact across the music world. It’s got a lot of artists paying closer attention to what they actually own and how their deals are set up. By re-recording her albums and pulling focus from the originals, she showed there’s another way to do it, and fans stuck with her through the whole thing. Moves like this are shifting how the industry thinks about ownership, and you can already see newer artists starting to plan with that in mind.

If you’re starting to take music seriously and thinking about turning it into a career, one of the first things to figure out is where you actually want to land. Music Producer and Audio Engineer might look similar from the outside. and there’s definitely some crossover, but once you’re deep in it, the roles feel pretty different. One is about leading the creative direction, the other one is about making sure that vision sounds right.

I broke it down here: how each role works and how to figure out which lane might be best for you!

That’s it for this week!
