The Rareform Rundown #67
Hello Friends,
Nathan here, this week we have a couple cool new projects to announce, a study relating music’s positive effects to cancer care, a new single out on Spotify and more. Next week we might try something new and fun for all of you music makers out there so stay tuned.
Let’s dive in.

New projects + music we are looking for
PROJECTS
New project! Excited to share that our remix of Make Me Feel, a remix I made with Darby Phillips, was featured in this spot for Starz 2025 Sizzle Reel. Big thanks to ZEALOT and Starz for having us on this one!
Psyched to share that our sound design elements made it into the campaign for Black Phone 2!

Excited to release my track Out For Revenge after its placement in the HIM trailer. This track is out now and available for streaming on Spotify!

A new study just dropped that highlights how music therapy is showing real promise in cancer care, especially for emotional support and managing stress. What’s interesting is that the benefits were found to be on par with more traditional forms of mental health treatment.
For those of us working in music and sound, it’s a reminder that what we do isn’t just about entertainment. There’s something deeper going on, music has the potential to support people in ways we’re only starting to fully understand. Pretty wild to see it becoming part of actual medical care.

Over the years, I’ve come across a lot of music from composers trying to break into sync. A lot of it has great ideas, strong builds, thoughtful writing, but the sounds themselves don’t always hit the way they need to for trailers or film. And that’s usually the thing holding the track back.
It’s something I kept running into, even in my own early work.
That’s what led to Echelon, a Serum pack (plus WAV files) built specifically for trailer music. Since it featured presets, each sound is infinitely customizable unlike typical sample packs, and it features a focused set of patches designed to level up your cinematic music.
Also, we’re debating doing some sweepstakes and giveaways for the folks who have purchased, so there’s all sorts of potential beyond what’s simply in the box.
If you’re writing for picture and looking for something that cuts through, check this out:

That’s it for this week. If you are reading this, I appreciate you, stay safe out there friends.
