The Rareform Rundown #31

Hello Friends,
Nathan here, wow it’s been an action packed time! This week we’re tapping into discussions on the importance of structure when composing for media, new projects our team has been working on, news about YouTube pulling music from popular artists due to licensing disputes, we will also look back at how indie music grew from garage bands to a global movement, and how World War II reshaped music, leaving its mark on everything from classical works to pop songs.
For those who submitted applications for the internship, we’re slowly running through each application as we had wayyyy more applications than we initially intended. It’s awesome to see how much interest there was and it also plants the seed here on how we can provide more value to all of you!
Without further ado, let’s get into it.

New projects + music we are looking for
PROJECTS
Hyped to have had our track BRUT by Duelle featured in multiple League of Legends Esports streams!
Excited to share that our track Confusion Spell was featured in a spot for Escape From The Trilateral Slopes!
Lastly on the placement front - Stoked to hear my track Heart of a King with Tommy Will featured in this spot for Starting 5!
SYNC SEARCH
My team and I are currently looking for tracks in the style of Sinnerman by Nina Simone!
As always, if you or anyone you know makes music in this vein, hit a reply to this email!

Discussions inspired by community questions
For all my music makers, this week I chat about the importance (and utility) of song structure, especially in trailer music and production music.

If you're wondering why some of your favorite tracks from artists like Adele or Nirvana are missing on YouTube, it's due to a licensing dispute with SESAC, which manages performance rights for many top musicians.
