The Rareform Rundown #32

Hello Friends,
Nathan here, this week, we're sharing some cool discoveries about an incredible study that shows how your heart reacts to music especially when you’re performing, a quick look at how music videos have changed over the years, we’ll explore how a happy accident—a broken amp—led Dave Davies of The Kinks to create the legendary fuzz sound in You Really Got Me, inspiring a whole new wave of rock musicians. Last but not least, I’ll be chatting about the most important thing when it comes to mastering songs in order to getting them ready to share.
Let’s goooo

New projects + music we are looking for
PROJECTS
Super excited to share that some of our music made it into Season 40 of The Challenge! If you caught Episode 9, you might’ve heard Coming For You by Heather Evans & LAIN, How Villains Are Made by Madalen Duke & Rok Nardin, and Elevate by The Mondays & Littie.
SYNC SEARCH
My team and I are currently looking for artists who make authentic vintage sounding tracks (think Motown classics).
You can find examples here:
As always, if you or anyone you know makes music in this vein, you know what to do, drop a line to this email!

Discussions inspired by community questions
This week I chat about the mastering process and the main thing I use to get my tracks ready to rock.

There’s a wild study that looks at how your heart reacts to music, especially when you’re performing. The connection between heart rate and performance is super interesting. Check out our blog for more details:

Music videos have come a long way—from Video Killed the Radio Star to YouTube. What started on MTV has totally changed how we experience music. Wild to see how far it’s come!

Ever wonder how that gritty fuzz sound in You Really Got Me by The Kinks came to be? Turns out, it was all thanks to a broken amp that Dave Davies messed around with. That happy accident sparked a whole new sound in rock and inspired tons of musicians along the way.
